sherise smith

Sherise’s love of all things art is literally in her genes. She grew up in Durango, Colorado, where her father was the chairman of the Fort Lewis College art department and a well-known artist in the Southwest (Mick Reber). She spent much of her childhood in the studio, joining her father’s figure drawing classes, learning about photography and even throwing pots!
Sherise earned her master’s degree from Duke University in physical therapy and was a practicing physical therapist in Nevada for over thirty years, before retiring to the Oregon coast in 2022 with her husband. During this time in Nevada, she pursued photography as her primary artistic endeavor.
Retirement has given Sherise the time and flexibility to return to her roots and truly pursue art in the way that would make her father proud. The mediums she is currently passionate about include photography, watercolor, acrylic, and pastel. She is also a member of and has shown work at Astoria Visual Arts. She is excited to be actively involved in the incredible Trails End Art Association community.
